Job Summary:
The Bus Operations Control Center (BOCC) Specialist is the primary person for providing onsite support at the Bus Operations Control Center for the Fairfax County Connector Bus system including information regarding bus routes, schedule times, bus tracker, and trip planning.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking bus travel information (delays, traffic, reroutes, accidents) from the BOCC garage POCs regarding the Fairfax County Connector Bus system and inputting the information into the necessary applications for distribution (Customer Assistance System, Bustracker)
- Responsible for taking customer calls requesting assistance regarding the Fairfax County Connector Bus system.
- Providing information and assistance via telephone regarding bus routes, schedule times, bus tracker information and trip planning.
- Learn and utilize WMATA, Fairfax Connector, and other Transportation information websites
- Obtain adequate facts using good judgment in finding answers and solutions to the customer’s inquiry, question, or concern.
- Perform other operational requirements as needed, while keeping the Manager informed on a regular basis.
- Communication with the Manager, Lead CSRs, and team members is a must
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong customer service, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills, professional phone voice is required.
- Basic proficiency with computers is required.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, specifically a call center environment, is preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-time and part-time positions
- Monday through Friday 5 AM – 1 PM
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary : $32,800 - $41,500
