The Front End Developer is responsible for the functionality and accuracy of the user interface, including innovative techniques to make the website look and perform better through continual improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Develops the front-end user interface on farmers.gov, following approved designs, and integrates into the pattern library
- Implements and helps maintain the farmers.gov Design System
- Uses JavaScript libraries and frameworks, HTML5 and CSS3, etc.
- Creates interfaces for integration with Drupal CMS and Drupal theming
- Works with design team and developers to ensure front-end aligns with designs and functionality
- Conducts peer reviews
Requirements:
- 10 years experience
- Public Trust Clearance
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies, as well as agile project management
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Institutional expertise and experience in Drupal 9 and large public-facing Federal sites, including solving complex platform delivery challenges
- User/customer experience testing expertise with large samples
- User-centered design experience with external customers
- Understanding of or experience with application of Executive Order on Transforming Federal Customer Experience and Service Delivery to Rebuild Trust in Government
- Experience with and understanding of SAFe® and Agile methodology
- Experience with High Impact Service Provider sites
- Experience with and Understanding of the rural customer base
- Experience with cloud migration, support, and development
- Experience working with and briefing executive and senior leadership at agency and bureau level
- Delivering work products conformant with the revised standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. § 794 d)
- Technology/specialized skillsets including, but not limited to: Drupal (front and back end), PHP, API's, HTML, Javascript, Symfony, Vue.js, jQuery, React.js, ElasticSearch, Python, Docker, Rancher, Azure, theming/pattern libraries, ANDI, SiteImprove, Google Analytics, Pattern libraries
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
