Responsibilities:
Constructability:
- Review and evaluate construction design and specifications to ensure practicality and efficiency in construction methods.
- Collaborate with project managers, customers, facilities, and other stakeholders to address constructability issues and provide innovative solutions.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify that construction activities align with design intent and industry standards.
Code Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. Stay current with changes in codes and laws and implement necessary adjustments in project designs and plans.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Project Planning:
- Lead the development of detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee the preparation and review of engineering designs, calculations, and drawings. Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
Client Submittals:
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports, proposals, and technical documents to clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients regarding project progress, changes, and issues.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and expectations, ensuring high satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in project planning, management, and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Procore, and project management tools.
