Civil Design Engineer- Chicago, ILJoin our Illinois Civil team as a Civil Design Engineer. As a Civil Designer, you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. You will perform basic analysis, design calculations, and coordinate the drafting of project elements for the Department of Transportation. Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply!
The Impact You Will Have:- You will compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships
- You will review mathematical calculations, organize calculations to be included in the design file, and follow project standards as assigned by the Project Manager
- You will establish project goals and milestones, define responsibilities, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress
- You have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- You have the desire to become an E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future)
- You want to perform design efforts and plan development for Transportation projects (including roadway, traffic, hydraulics, Erosion Control, etc.)
- You are knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, and Microsoft Office products
- You have the demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
- You have the willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks. The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require travel to project sites.
- You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
- You are detailed, and organized and thrive in environments that are deadline driven.
