Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Safety, Health and Environment Technician to join the Site Management team in Liverpool, UK. You will work towards a Level 3 apprenticeship whilst providing support on all aspects relating to Health & Safety management and assisting with the development of robust procedures to mitigate risk.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities
- Working with the established Health and Safety team to provide practicable and professional advice and assistance to staff at all levels.
- Assisting with & coordinating operational risk assessments for all AHK site’s operations.
- Ensure regular inspections are undertaken and ensure corrective actions are identified and addressed.
- Recording and managing incident reports, and coordinating incident investigations as required.
- Writing up reports, safety bulletins, and newsletters.
- Attend the company Health and Safety committees & produce minutes as required.
- Keeping up to date with, and ensuring AHK compliance with current health and safety legislation and good industry practice as part of their continuous professional development.
- Contribute to a positive H&S culture by positively influencing behavior in others to achieve desired outcomes.
- To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Health and Safety Department.
Essential
- A good knowledge of MS Office applications and able to adapt to new bespoke systems when presented.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prioritise work demands to ensure an appropriate level of detail is employed at all times.
- Must possess a proactive, positive attitude towards improving health and safety standards and developing a positive health and safety culture.

Qualifications
- GCSEs with Grades C/4 or above including Maths, English, and Science
