Job Position: Catering / Marketing Manager
About Us: Alfred is a VC-backed early-stage technology startup that connects hotels with merchants (restaurants, gyms, etc.) in the city around them. We enable hotels to offer additional services / offerings to their guests for no incremental cost and empower local merchants with demand from hotel guests. We’re based and operate in NYC today.
Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Catering / Marketing Associate to join our team. Hotel events / catering is a rapidly growing vertical within Alfred’s suite of services to hotels. This role combines catering coordination and marketing initiatives to enhance our service offerings and drive growth. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between hotels and neighboring restaurants and merchants. Additionally, the coordinator will brainstorm and implement marketing strategies to upsell / cross-sell additional services and curate special packages for holidays and events. This is an extremely unique opportunity to join a fast-paced early-stage startup as one of the key early members.
Key Responsibilities:
Catering Coordination:
BEO Management:
- Build, edit, and manage events / catering Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for hotels and clients on catering software (Tripleseat program) and our platform.
- Coordinate with hotel staff and restaurant operations to ensure seamless execution of catering services.
- Handle any changes or special requests from hotels and ensure they are communicated effectively to restaurants.
Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hotel staff and local merchants partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for catering-related inquiries and issues.
Marketing Initiatives:
Cross-sell and Upsell:
- Brainstorm and develop marketing strategies to upsell additional service offerings to hotel partners.
- Create special packages for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, etc.
- Identify and connect complementary merchants (e.g., flower shops) to our platform to enhance the guest experience.
Campaign Management:
- Design and execute marketing campaigns to promote special packages and new services.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for growth and expansion within existing hotel accounts.
Content Creation:
- Develop marketing collateral, including promotional materials and digital content, to support upselling initiatives.
- Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with Alfred's brand and messaging.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in catering coordination, event planning, marketing, or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality service and experiences.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in using digital marketing tools and platforms.
