Alight Benefit Guidance (ABG) is a personalized, guided service that provides employees with high-touch benefits support through the use of licensed benefit counselors. ABG, designed and operated to be both higher-quality, and uniquely implemented per customer, is considered a key growth area for Alight. With ABG's services - an employer has comfort that their employees are receiving guided recommendations of the best benefit selections for their family while completing the enrollment (if applicable, in one of Alight's platforms, or an outside platform).

This role, the Vice President of Sales, will concentrate on leading a close team of Regional Directors to expand all ABG opportunities, heavily focused on the non-Alight clients (i.e. via brokers, or other outlets).

Job Description

The Vice President of Sales for ABG is a sales leader who is highly motivated to build and lead a newly created team of Regional Directors, spread in 4 different locations nationally. The goal is to drive a team revenue number and guide each person on the best way to exceed their goal. The individual will need to have a firm handle on: leadership, flexibility, all benefits (specifically medical and supplemental health plans), great creativity and patience. Coming mid-year into the role will require a quick 'ramp-up' because exceeding this year's goal is the absolute priority (already on track YTD). This role can be located across the US - virtually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales team to achieve the revenue goals for the year
  • Collaborates with aligned client team Client Executive and Service Delivery Leader to ensure mutual understanding of opportunity and the ability to deliver a successful service
  • Identifies and generates demand within new markets and listens for opportunities to create new products (e.g. bundling/packaging of similar services)
  • Leads the development of a sales plan for service delivery opportunities focusing on targeted organizations where a service delivery opportunity is likely to exist
  • Responsible for setting and executing the sales strategy
  • Demonstrates strong sales strategy ability, crafting and presenting client offers and helping the Alight client team identify and navigate alternative paths to making the sale
  • Utilizes other selling resources at the appropriate time in the selling process
  • Manages and maximizes the client level cost of sale
  • Collects and communicates market intelligence on products/services, incorporates it into sales client planning process, and shares with the Alight Sales & Accounts community
  • Maximizes the use (both individually and with the team) of sanctioned tools including, but not limited to, Salesforce.com systems
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and reports to upper management

Team Leadership

  • Identifies, creates, and develops key success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team and manages team to plan
  • Acts as a mentor, coach, and oversees the career development of Strategic Accounts team members to Alight-authored career milestones and performance plans
  • Encourages, inspires, motivates, and leads Strategic Account team to accomplish team revenue goals through proactive communication, and positive reinforcement
  • Responsible for identifying and recruiting high performing talent to the Strategic Accounts team
  • Maintains senior client relationships on certain accounts as needed/designated

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Knowledge and Education:

  • 5+ years of managing and leading a sales team
  • 10+ years direct selling experience with demonstrated sales success with large, complex HR outsourcing or Health and Welfare service administration sales
  • Excellent selling and sales strategy skills, including the ability to close opportunities
  • Ability to inspire the team and excite the organization to rally behind the strategy
  • Demonstrated leadership experience leading a high performing sales team
  • Maintains strong content knowledge across entire Alight portfolio
  • Proven forecasting accuracy
  • Excels in the areas of sales methodology, forecasting accuracy, process and sales leadership
  • Exceptional presentation skills at the C-Suite level
  • Demonstrates a good overall grasp of all business areas including Business and Product Strategy, Sales and GTM, Pricing, Financials, HR and Legal
  • Travel Expectation 10 – 25% of the time (sometimes on short notice) to support meetings with clients
