Job Description: Competitive or Recreational Gymnastics Coaches
Recreational Coach:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Recreational or Competitive Team Gymnastics Coach. As a Recreational Coach, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable gymnastics experience for children ranging from 18 months to mid-teens. If you have a passion for working with children and fostering their love for gymnastics, we would love to hear from you.
Recreational Coach Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for gymnastics activities
- Instruct and guide students through basic gymnastics skills and routines
- Develop lesson plans and activities that are age-appropriate and engaging
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times
- Provide positive and constructive feedback to help students improve their skills
- Promote a fun and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
- Maintain a clean and organized gymnastics facility
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding class updates and student progress
Recreational Coach Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Demonstrated responsibility and commitment to safety
- Availability to work 5-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
- Familiarity with USAG curriculum is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Competitive Team Coach:
We are also currently seeking an experienced and motivated Team Gymnastics Coach to join our coaching staff. As a Team Coach, you will play a crucial role in the development and training of competitive gymnasts. If you have a strong background in gymnastics coaching and are passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential, we encourage you to apply.
Competitive Team Coach Responsibilities:
- Implement and follow the USAG curriculum to provide comprehensive training to competitive gymnasts
- Design and lead practice sessions to develop skills and routines for Xcel Bronze through Xcel Diamond levels or Development levels 2 through 8
- Prepare gymnasts for competitions and travel to meets
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to athletes, focusing on skill development, technique, and physical conditioning
- Foster a positive and encouraging training environment
- Attend regular coaching meetings and collaborate with the coaching team to enhance coaching techniques and program development
- Ensure the safety and well-being of athletes at all times, following Safe Sport guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of athlete progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Stay up-to-date with the latest gymnastics trends, techniques, and rules
Competitive Team Coach Requirements:
- Experience coaching in a Development or Xcel program for 1-2 years
- Strong familiarity with the USAG curriculum, preferably with certification
- Minimum age of 18 for coaches
- Safe Sport certified or willingness to obtain certification
- Availability to work 4-18 hours per week, with flexible scheduling including weekends
- Ability to travel to competitions and meets, typically 1-2 times per month within a 45-minute to 2-hour distance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other coaches
- Practices available every day except Saturday, with 3-4 days per week coaching required
- Benefits available for coaches working over 25 hours per week
