The Staff Nurse completes assigned nursing related services for each client. They are responsible for nursing assessments, providing routine nursing care, review of medication logs and assisting in overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician.
The ideal Staff Nurse candidate has nursing experience in acute care, detox, and /or mental health facilities, strong assessment and organizational skills, and is able to prioritize care and communicate with the treatment team. They are able to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients and their families, display good listening and observation skills, exhibit skills sufficient to adequately gather and record client data specific to current and past medical status, and form objective impression of signs, symptoms and patient complaints and their implications concerning treatment planning. Most importantly , he/she exhibits is empathetic and understanding of patient needs.
Qualifications:
- A passion for the field of behavioral/mental health
- Work experience in the field of behavioral/mental health is preferred but not required.
- License to practice nursing in the state of Florida
- Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school of Nursing
- Experience with the EMR, KIPU, is preferred but not required.
