What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant II position at Allan Hancock College?
*This is a temporary position. The successful candidate will conclude the position after 999 hours worked or 170 working days completed, whichever comes first*
Serve as the first point of contact with students. Maintains a friendly, supportive atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
Answer phones, respond to voicemails, and assist students/visitors at the front desk and in the lobby with application and registration.
Review student applications and documents.
Assigned data entry/processing functions.
Help register students at the counter and issue photo ID cards.
Help maintain student files. Scan admissions and records documents as requested.
May assist with providing appropriate information to program-specific students.
Participate in District-provided in-service training programs.
Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Assist A&R staff or Director, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Have good customer service and telephone skills
Knowledge of computer skills (Outlook, Teams, Ellucian Banner)
Bilingual (preferred)
Be knowledgeable of department and college form procedures
Be able to navigate the MyHancock portal
Be a team worker
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to give and take oral direction
Dependable and punctual
SALARY:
$16.98 an hour

Work Schedule and Locations:
If Santa Maria Only: 37 hours, Monday thru Tuesday (9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Wednesday thru Thursday (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
If Lompoc Only: 37 hours, Monday thru Tuesday (9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Wednesday thru Thursday (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
If Lompoc/Vandenberg: 37 hours, Monday thru Tuesday (9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Wednesday thru Thursday (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
If VSFB Only: 20 hours, Monday thru Thursday (10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
