JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is located in our San Antonio office and provides auto claims service to customers using multiple communication channels. Within defined guidelines and framework, responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and adjusting vehicle damages to include specialty vehicles. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating and making critical decisions regarding the repair process for our customers. You will work closely with body shops and others to negotiate repair pricing. You will be responsible for conducting damage verification and advising the shop what is loss related and what is not loss related. You will deem and settle total loss claims. This role will also provide the opportunity to relay on your leadership and conflict management skills as you guide the customer through the claims and repair process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides claims service via internal channels (phone/fax/email/mail) to members and third-party customers.
* Review estimates, supplements, photos and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
* Answer calls from shops, networks, carriers and vehicle owners, handling any questions or concerns.
* Investigating, evaluating, and negotiating claims, in order to reach a fair and equitable settlement. Using compassionate communication and persuasive negotiation to ensure a positive customer experience.
* Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement decisions.
* Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload to keep policyholders and other involved parties informed, and provide timely claims status updates.
* Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate matters for escalation.
* Acquires and applies basic knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the claim handling process and procedures.
* Ability to maintain discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgement
* Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* High School Diploma or GED.
* This position will require a Texas All Lines Adjuster's license or ability to obtain a Texas All Lines Adjusters license. Allcat will provide training if required.
* 1 year of customer contact experience
* Working knowledge of CCC Portal/estimating software
* 6 months of Repair Facility work history or vehicle appraising experience
* Enjoys working in a dynamic environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization
* Must be accurate and detail-oriented
* Ability to learn new technologies
* Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree
* Current Casualty Adjuster License
* 1 years of Claims Adjusting to include reviewing, writing, adjusting auto damage estimates and total loss claims.
* Understanding of state guidelines to include department of insurance regulations related to vehicle estimating to ensure compliance.
* Experience in analyzing estimates for accuracy to include accurate pricing of parts (through part searches), labor and supplies required for estimates.
* Ability to review photos and determine ability to repair, and complete assessment and/ or total loss evaluation as necessary. This includes creating appraisals from physical inspections/photos on vehicles and specialty vehicles (motorcycles, boats, heavy equipment).
* Experience in negotiating moderately complex/highly complex settlements with customers and repair facilities to include total loss settlements.
* Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems.
* Ability to communicate estimates in required formats (i.e., electronic, email, written, etc.) required to meet all internal and external customer expectations.
* Understanding the importance of identifying subrogation or fraud potential based upon physical evidence and refer to the appropriate party timely.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* 2 years of customer service experience
* Working knowledge and understanding of the auto claims contract as well as application of case law, state laws and regulations.
PAY RANGE
$50,000 - $75,000 annually based on experience.
