The Area Coordinator is a live-in staff person who manages the Willowbrook Woods office and is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations. Being the only College Officials who live and work on-site, the position requires extended working hours’ availability and flexibility while maintaining personal boundaries as well as work-life balance. The Area Coordinator provides stability to the living/learning community comprised of up to 228 [primarily] first- and second-year students.
The Staffing Model for Student Affairs has two Area Coordinators who share most of the responsibilities of the live-in, on-site position but who each will have designated tasks or specialties which can shift as the positions experience turnover and/or strengths change within Residence Life. During any period when only one Area Coordinator is on staff, the designated tasks may be reduced and/or reassigned to other Student Affairs or College Officials or external partners.
When Residence Life is fully staffed, one or both of the Area Coordinators will be the primary contact for information, guidance, and navigating matters directly related to the College and to Willowbrook Woods for external groups that use Willowbrook Woods such as during the summer when residence halls are closed.
