Basic Statement of Responsibilities
The instructor is responsible for teaching students through formal and informal classroom and/or laboratory/clinic activities in an atmosphere compatible with the philosophies, goals and objectives of the college. This job description is an addendum to the Faculty Job Description.
Essential Functions
Accept responsibilities and obligations as a professional educator. The primary duty of
- Teach a minimum load of 30 credits per academic year with the exception of designated
- Need to work off-schedule hours, when necessary, for the benefit of their department:
- As a learning centered college, faculty are expected to be accessible to students in a
- Attend fall and spring commencement/graduation.
- Maintain clinical competence in area of instruction and instruct students on the appropriate
- Attend division meetings
- Serve on division/program committee(s).
- Assist in the development of division/program long range plans and goals.
- Assist in accreditation
- Assume some division/program administrative responsibilities if delegated.
- Communicate ideas for improving the division/program.
- Serve as requested, on the division/program’s Advisory Committee.
- Attend pinning ceremony both fall and spring as appropriate for the location where you are
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
