What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior front-end developer (Expo Eats) position at AlleyCorp?
Expo brings people together through food. We are creating a new digital creator platform for the $1.7T food market, where anyone can easily share content, build a following, monetize, and find community. We are building the new food network for the long tail, enabling anyone across the world to build their own food channel, and our mission is to open the aperture for everyone to reconnect to their own cultural traditions and to explore a diverse and international set of new ones.
In this role, you will be the first frontend developer and crucial to the launch our first product, including writing the first line of code in our web application. You'll be working with an experienced product team, including a senior product designer, as well as backend and iOS devs.
We want you to apply if you:
- Have a combined 5 years of professional experience in software development, and at least 2 in frontend development specifically;
- Have strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular;
- Write clean, legible, and testable code;
- Have experience working closely with product designers on building component libraries;;
- Are able to advocate for users as well as consider the ways flaws in a design might be abused;
- Have excellent written English communication skills;
- Have a proven track record of mentorship – you will be the first front-end developer but not the last.
Some extra stuff we love:
- Ability to move around in the stack beyond front-end development;
- Experience working on early-stage startups and ability to talk to us about growing pains resulting from early design and technical decisions;
- Experience designing applications with internationalization and accessibility in mind;
- Experience with digital videography or photography;
- A deep love of food!
This is a full-time permanent position at AlleyCorp Nord. Our ideal start date is ASAP. Candidates based in Quebec, and specifically around Montreal, are preferred. However, we are able to hire across Canada, with an assumption of a roughly EDT work schedule.
