New Product Development Engineer III

POSITION OVERVIEW

Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Sr New Product Development Engineer at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to details, decision making skills, ability to multitask and work with others.  A high level of creativity, ability to exercise independent judgment, and general business understanding is required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES 

1. Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theory and principles, statutory codes, and equipment requirements
2. Ability to size and design mechanical and electromechanical components such as; chains, sprockets, belts, linear guides, cylinders, motors, servo motors, gearbox, etc.
3. Design in accordance to GD&T tolerances and OSHA / RIA standards related to safety and ergonomics
4. Must be able to manage project timelines and project budgets
5. Installation support as required for prototype equipment
6. Support product development thru all stages to be production ready
7. Support creation and changes to product manuals and supporting media
8. Review service calls, warranty costs, and quality issues
9. Verification and validation of designs using SPC, Gage R&R, FMEA, FEA, and Life cycle testing practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Qualifications/Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of 3D design in Solidworks preferred
• Strong project management aptitude
• Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
• Experience with Solidworks Composer, Photoshop and adobe InDesign a plus

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience
