Job Title: Information Technology Practitioner Leader Job Description: Allison Transmission is forming a Technical Operations Team (TOp Team) and is seeking IT subject matter experts who will be responsible for daily oversight of Allison Transmission IT technologies and services. They are ultimately responsible for all associated internal and external support teams. The TOp team, via the Operations Service Delivery team has accountability for ensuring efficient and effective operations globally, maintaining highly available IT technologies and services. TOp Team members strengths will vary individually. The expectation is that individuals will have the aptitude and affinity to comprehend a wide spectrum of IT technologies, and the team collectively will be able to thoroughly understand, dissect and stitch together, the technologies and services as circumstances warrant. These technologies include, but are not limited to, data centers, network, server, private and public clouds, telephony/communication, collaboration solutions, IT security, integration utilities, databases, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, user productivity, etc. across the globe. TOp team members collaborate with service providers and IT staff to drive operational excellence, continual service improvement, and achievement of IT departmental goals and objectives. In addition to helping ensure stellar IT operations, TOp Team members will be key contributors in the strategy, planning and project execution within the IT group. Key Responsibilities: Ensure technical support teams are operating in adherence with defined policies, processes, IT security requirements and applicable regulatory standards Leads close collaboration with solution support and project teams to ensure timely delivery of business value and outcomes Design, install, administer, and optimize information technology services, including upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches Establish and monitor information technology performance metrics Participate in and provides key input for IT strategy and planning activities Ensure operational procedures and operational tasks are reliable and consistently executed Oversee and guide personnel in the operation of IT services to maintain the protection of enterprise information and reliability of service delivery. Coordinate actively with facilities regarding power, HVAC, telecommunications, and other needs Manage the IT operational performance of service providers in accordance with contractual obligations and participate in regular review and adjudication of SLAs as required Facilitate cross-team collaboration to drive resolution and prevent re-occurrence of complex issues with support from other IT groups as required Leverage deep subject matter expertise to identify and lead execution of continual improvement initiatives with respect to designated areas of responsibility Required: Bachelor of Science, (preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or an Engineering) 7 years of experience managing IT technology, IT services Preferred: 10 years previous experience managing IT technology, IT services 5 years leading technical teams ITIL v3/v4 certification Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead technical resource personnel Solid technical expertise across multiple IT technologies Demonstrated ability to drive decision making and managing potential conflict Demonstrated experience in the management of operations and infrastructure; and the ability to mature the capabilities across people, processes, and tools Demonstrated ability to establish and lead virtual teams that work in a collaborative manner Strong leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation Demonstrated ability to support in-flight projects with consultative guidance to staff, consultants, and external partners Aptitude and affinity to comprehend the full spectrum of IT technologies Primary Location: Indianapolis, IN Additional Locations: Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
