AllPro Government is currently hiring in the Manchester area for an experienced MED TECH - GENERALIST with at least 3 years work experience as a Generalist, that can perform testing in all areas of the Clinical Laboratory, to include but not limited to:
- Chemistry
- Blood Bank
- Hematology
- Microbiology
- Immunology
- Urinanalysis
This assignment is a Government Contract and will need to follow Federal policies (i.e. – background and drug-screening).
Facility: Federal Health Care Hospital
Location: Manchester, NH
Available Shifts: Days, Evenings, Overnights – possible weekends and holidays
Rate: $38 p/hr
Certificate/License: Required Certification by ASCP or AMT with appropriate training and a minimum of three years experience.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science or in a related science (i.e. - laboratory sciences such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology, etc).
- Completion of med technology clinical practice program,
- 3-years of post-certification clinical laboratory experience (i.e. – blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical microscopy, etc) within the last 10-years as a certified Med Lab Tech by the ASCP.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- ASCP or AMT Certification (Required)
- BLS (AHA ONLY) (Required)
Job Description:
Perform day-to-day operations in the laboratory such as routine testing, quality control and maintenance of instruments. Develop, perform, and evaluate accuracy of laboratory procedures.
- MUST perform clinical laboratory tests pertinent to all of the following: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and immunology.
- Perform clinical laboratory testing in hematology and chemistry using both automated and manual equipment and analyze results before reporting to physicians.
- Review toxicology reports, completes and send out reports, and enters all results daily.
- Ensure test result accuracy within laboratory turn-around-times for stat and routine specimens.
- Perform microbiology bacterial culture plating, gram stain analysis, blood culture preparation.
- Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and reagents for the efficient operation of the clinical laboratory.
- Adheres to practices and regulations governing biosafety and biosecurity in the workplace.
- Maintains and documents the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment. Answers inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity, test sensitivity, and specific factors.
- Evaluates the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable.
- Other tasks assigned as indicated.
