Full-time position, salary range of $53k-57k annually

Must be comfortable working on-site Monday through Friday 8:30-5:30pm

Summary: AllShifts is a growing and dynamic healthcare staffing technology company with 30% growth YOY for the past four years needs an experienced Collections Specialist to report to our A/R Director. You must be able to wear multiple hats and handle A/R (Accounts Receivable) collections, deposit checks and process payment applications for client accounts accordingly, send out legal letters, communicate to executives, among several other junior financial responsibilities. You must be highly competent, have some experience in a similar position, be detail-oriented and an exceptional communicator. You must be able to stay calm under pressure and heavy workloads. You must be amiable and able to work and communicate with many people across the company.

This critical role will support the company’s growth and profitability by providing accurate and timely reporting to the A/R Director and company principals. This is a high-growth, fast-moving company, and we need a vibrant, positive, highly competent and extremely detailed individual to assist with our internal accounting and financial needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a high volume of interactions and work each day. The nursing field is booming as 10,000 baby boomers retire each day and many eventually require nursing assistance. Our business is scaling along with the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) collections responsibilities. Contact clients as needed, via email and phone.
• Deposit checks daily and apply payments from clients to their accounts in our financial software.
• Respond promptly to all incoming requests from clients.
• Process invoice adjustments, finance charges, etc.
• Be comfortable speaking on the phone with 200 clients.
• Be comfortable dealing with our legal team
• Report daily/weekly to CFO, COO and CEO on status updates with problem accounts
• Should be comfortable taking ownership of the AR process and take initiative to problem solve and suggest solutions
• Assist A/R Director with ad-hoc junior accounting projects

Competencies: You should be a team player possessing good analytical, verbal and writing skills. You should also possess the ability to exercise good judgment, problem solve, work independently and be motivated to perform to the best of your abilities. Good organizational skills and high ethical standards are expected. You should be willing to take on any challenge but also know your limitations.

Education and/or Experience: College degrees are preferable, but at least some college experience is necessary. Must have at least 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced financial/accounting environment.

Work Environment: We are in a first-class, recently renovated, state-of-the-art building in downtown Newark, right near the Broad St. train station. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and normal for a vibrant office. You’ll always have account managers on the phone staffing shifts and talking to nurses, but you will be able to work among them and possibly in a quieter area of the office, as needed.
