The Opportunity

We are inviting a seasoned Software Engineering Director to lead the charge in the development of an AI-powered document management platform. This leadership position encompasses not just the strategic oversight but also active participation in driving the design, development and implementation of a cloud-based framework that delivers advanced AI capabilities for enterprise use. The ideal candidate will excel in a multifaceted role that requires both high-level strategic thinking and direct involvement in technical challenges. The platform should not only be robust and secure, but also designed for ease of adoption, migration, integration, and onboarding across the enterprise

The Work Itself

  • Lead the innovation, development, deployment, and enterprise-wide rollout of a cloud-based, AI-powered document management platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance and security while being user-friendly and conducive to broad enterprise adoption.
  • Develop and implement strategies for seamless migration from existing systems to the new platform, prioritizing minimal disruption and maximum compatibility.
  • Design and oversee comprehensive onboarding programs that enable quick and seamless integration/adoption of the platform across the organization.
  • Hands-on management of all technical aspects of the platform’s lifecycle, including architecture, development, integration, and continuous improvement, ensuring the platform meets enterprise needs for simplicity and functionality.
  • Maintain rigorous control over project finances and budgeting, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish robust testing protocols, participating in troubleshooting and refining processes to ensure the platform’s functionality and security.
  • Drive the strategic direction of the product, closely aligning with business goals and operational milestones through a phased, agile rollout.
  • Communicate effectively with business, technology teams and executive leadership, ensuring alignment and transparency on project progress, risks, and strategic decisions.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence within the development team, providing guidance and mentorship while actively contributing to coding and problem-solving when needed.
  • Handle product and supplier selection and management, ensuring all deliverables and commitments are met.

Skills

The Skills You Bring

  • 7 - 10 years of proven leadership in software engineering, with a notable inclination towards hands-on involvement in managing complex technology projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Comprehensive experience with AI technologies and cloud-based infrastructure, ideally within a document management context.
  • Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines and adhering to DevOps best practices, with a strong track record in agile methodologies, particularly DevSecOps, ensuring successful implementation and oversight.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to lead under pressure and motivate teams across functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at managing expectations and delivering key messages to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in transitioning monolithic applications to cloud-native systems through migration and modernization.
  • Oversight of teams deploying advanced document mgmt and letter generation solutions, the use of Java, Python, and JavaScript, and web technologies such as Node.js, React, and Angular.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and integrating cloud-based platforms and AI technologies, particularly within AWS environments is preferred.
