Pharmacy technicians/inpatient work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Job Title: Pharmacy Tech
Duties & Responsibilities: Pharmacy Technicians/Inpatient assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians/inpatient work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Procures and distributes medications per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
- Replenishes medications in automated dispensing units and emergency drug containers; rotates and manages stock before expiration date; generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required.
- Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile preparations (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) safely and accurately using appropriate techniques.
- Complies with sterile compounding regulations and practices.
- Repackages bulk medications in unit-dose packages safely and accurately per established procedures using appropriate techniques.
- Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, storing and restocking medications and supplies in appropriate locations while maintaining records, pricing updates, and other required documentation accurately
- Completes and documents all assigned medication storage areas inspections at least monthly; identifies and replaces outdated and unusable medications.
- Education-High School diploma/equivalent

- Certification and Licensure (certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (NHA/PTCB).
- Must have NY license
- 2-3 years experience
