We are currently seeking a Structural Division Lead to support our growing team in our Dulles, VA office.
Job Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Structural Division Lead will be to develop short and long term strategies to grow the Bridge Inspection business. The Structural Division Lead is responsible for business unit's operating at the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness by overseeing the day-to day operations, and shall:
- Develop and execute a business plan to support the growth of the regional business
- Participate in company decision-making by aligning regional business opportunities with the overall company business plan
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of quality management practices, actively engage in business development proposal activities and manage delivery of services
- Develop the financial aspects of the regional office by optimizing the profit and loss to operate within budget
- Serve in a lead role managing projects or contracts by coordinating and managing the efforts of subordinate staff, and by maintaining the liaison with clients and other project stakeholders
- Serve in a lead technical role on critical, complex or strategically important project engagements on behalf of the office and lead the efforts of a project team
- Work with federal, state and local agencies to guarantee projects are managed properly, deadlines are met, and profit margins are maintained
- Lead business development efforts for the office, including identifying and tracking leads, building client relationships and strategic alliances
- Coordinate activities with departments involved in projects
- Engage in leadership roles in industry associations and forums
- Manage all technical, engineering and administrative personnel in the regio
- Manage and recruit talent to support the delivery of bridge and ancillary inspections.
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the Structural Division Lead role include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related degree
- 10 years of bridge inspection and management experience
- Experience in business development including preparation of qualification and proposal Packages and participation in or leading client presentations with an engineering or PM / CM service focus
- Successfully completed the National Highway Institute (NHI) course ‘Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges’ (FHWA-NHI-130055)
- This position requires frequent field visits, and office, or as necessary.
