Equipment Operator (Seasonal) - Alpine - Roads & Pads Group

JOB SUMMARY

The Equipment Operator may operate all equipment on the job site including, but not limited to excavators, dozers, tractor-trailers, front-end loaders, snow blowers and lowboy trailers. Operator is responsible for performing daily walk-around inspection of tractor-trailer and/or equipment, load inspections, and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Must be able to interpret load charts and determine load capacities for different tractor-trailer configurations. Inspect all load-securing devices. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require, including occasional roustabout duties. This position supports the winter drilling season at Alpine.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, heavy trucks, and other heavy machinery to lift, roll, haul, load and unload materials and equipment, move soil, gravel, snow, construction supplies, and other materials.

·         Snow removal will be a major component of this position and previous experience is highly desirable.

·         Will be required to work outside in cold and adverse weather conditions.

·         Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and equipment maintenance schedules.

·         Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.

·         Inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.

·         Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

·         Clean, store, and maintain equipment as required.

·         Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

·         Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Class A CDL with Tank and HAZMAT endorsements required.

·         Current DOT medical card required.

·         Minimum of three (3) years’ related training and experience required.

·         High School Diploma or GED

·         Able to work 80.5 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation required.

·         Within seven (7) days of arrival at the job location the employee must demonstrate the ability to pass a written and practical competency equipment evaluation.

·         Driving record must meet Company requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         At least three (3) years of work experience in the Oil and Gas industry, North Slope, and/or in Arctic Environment preferred.

·         Previous ice road driving experience is preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS

·         North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

·         Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

·         Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
