JOB TITLE: FOOD SERVICES LEAD
REPORT TO: SUPERINTENDENT
CONTRACT HOURS/DAYS: MONDAY-THUR, SOME FRIDAYS; 6:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
SALARY RANGE: $13.75 - $19.00
LOCATION: ALSEA SCHOOL

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of the principal, the food services lead is responsible to support all elements of the day-to-day operations; including menu management and meal distribution to the School District community, maintain program procedures, department systems, and efficient work standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); experience in cafeteria setting or related field.
- Current food handler’s card.
- Experience working with children.
- Previous computer experience.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, food related environment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To set a professional example for kitchen employees and student workers.
- Responsible to train employees and student workers.
- Responsible to assign schedules and duties to cafeteria employees and student workers.
- Serves as the primary person in charge which is responsible to ensure all food safety processes are followed.
- Supervises and ensures proper clean up.
- Responsible to follow all safety and health practices.
- Responsible for planning and supervision of cooking, and serving of meals that meet the USDA Guidelines, as directed by the Corvallis Food Service Director.
- Responsible to properly identify and record reimbursable meals.
- Responsible to record all ala carte sales correctly.
- Responsible to ensure quality of food.
- Responsible for correct ordering of all food and supplies for meals from Corvallis Food Service.
- Responsible for accurate receiving, recording, and rotating of all products using FIFO method.
- Responsible to maintain an accurate rotating inventory.
- Responsible to ensure accurate and timely completion of USDA required paperwork/reports.
- Responsible for ensuring daily reconciliation of all money and all meal accounts using computer software program.
- Responsible for accurate computer input.
- Responsible for completion of various required records.
- May be responsible to record time for cafeteria staff.
- Responsible to turn in all required reports by deadlines.
- May be required to contact substitutes as needed.
- Responsible to coordinate with Corvallis Food Service Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Consistently follows all applicable federal and state laws and all district policies, rules, and supervisor directions.
- Observes proper lifting techniques and other strategies to avoid accidents and personal injury while performing job duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The person selected for this position must be able to provide proof of educational requirements, verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check and be approved by the State Department of Education after having a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification completed. The selected candidate will pay $10-$20 for a set of fingerprints.

COMPENSATION:
$13.75 - $19.00. Dependent upon experience.
