Hybrid (on site as needed), Reston, VA
ALTA IT Services has a long term contracting opening (minimum 6 months) for a Front End Developer with at least 5 years of recent website development experience. This will support a Reston, VA-based financial services customer. Candidates must be local to the DMV area and ready for hybrid work in Reston, VA. Candidates will only need to go onsite in Reston, VA on an "as needed" basis.
W2 HOURLY ONLY - C2C not available for this customer.
Front-end Developer
We are seeking a creative, talented, and experienced front-end developer to join the Digital Marketing and Technology team. As a member of the team, you will work collaboratively with project managers, web designers, content publishers, and internal stakeholders to design and enhance our corporate web site and intranet site.
Responsibilities
•Update externally-facing sites in a CMS environment using built-in components and front-end coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Build and code marketing campaign sites in a CMS environment based on designs from third-party agencies or in-house creative teams
• Perform day-to-day publishing work on externally-facing sites
• Enhance and evolve existing web properties based on best practices and user-centered design
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues and defects, including browser compatibility issues
• Engage with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements and present solutions
Qualifications
• 5 years experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
• Strong HTML and CSS experience
• Strong JavaScript and jQuery experience
• High level of proficiency in Creative Cloud (particularly Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, InVision, and Figma
• Experience with Drupal content management system preferred
• Strong experience with best practices related to UX, web interactions, and user-centered design, including accessibility
• Experience with data visualization frameworks a plus, including Flourish
• Knowledge of and experience with responsive design principles
• Strong visual design skills; well-rounded portfolio comprised of creative and well-executed solutions
• Experience working on financial services websites preferred
• SharePoint designing/developing experience a plus
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree - preferably BFA or BA in Graphic Design, Web/Interactive Design, or related field of study
