JOB DESCRIPTION: PURCHASING AGENT
JOB SUMMARY:
Customer Service has always been the core value at AFI, our purchasing agents should exemplify that. As purchasing agent, your primary responsibility is purchasing items for our customers that are being ordered throughout the day. These orders are placed from our vendors and are shipped directly to our customers and AFI stock. You should have a meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy and mitigating errors.
Position reports to: Purchasing Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares purchase orders in system, reviewing for possible problems
- Submits orders to suppliers using email, online, phone or fax, monitoring for acknowledgement from supplier
- Confirms that purchase orders are received and processed correctly by reviewing acknowledgements or following up with vendor; verifying shipping address, method, costs and ship date
- Provide ISR with longer than expected ship dates, recommendations made by supplier for substitute items, cost errors etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
