Job Title: Reliability Coordinator – Instrumentation & Electrical Scheduler

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Our Pekin campus produces products destined for Health, Food and Beverage and Industrial markets. All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products, which includes participation in training, following cGMP and food safety requirements in the facility, and reviewing and following SOPs for incoming ingredients and outgoing products.

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for scheduling the work activities of electrical maintenance personnel, directing, planning, and safe execution of all electrical, instrumentation and maintenance activities. These tasks will be completed using internal maintenance personnel, as well as the use of various contractors.


The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CMMS system for planning of maintenance work orders.
  • Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements as scheduled.
  • Interact with plant staff & work stakeholders to schedule work and coordinate assignments. Design and develop schedules. May be asked to interact with project teams and contractors to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules and identification of variances from original plan.
  • Evaluate daily and weekly schedule performance and identify developing problem areas utilizing KPI’s.
  • Analyze critical path of outage schedules and work with work group leads to recommend alternative work paths.
  • Develop and update weekly schedule working with maintenance supervisors and project managers.

  • Assist project team when requested to assist in creating status reports to keep management informed of project progress.
  • Conduct meetings to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Conduct meetings and interact with project team members, contractors, cost staff, and management.
  • Support and promote the safe operation of the plant assets and ensure that maintenance personnel and contractors follow safe work practices.
  • Work with vendors, purchasing and operations to ensure the correct parts and supplies are available for repair of equipment in a timely manner.
  • Assess and ensure that we are maximizing the utilization of our in-house I/E resources.
  • For I/E needs outside of internal resources, provide contractor alternatives as well as act as the company’s representative in overseeing the completion and quality of the work.
  • Responsible for upkeep of records and the integrity of the data in our CMS.
  • Responsible for various predictive and preventative maintenance activities within the plant.
    Provide employee training and support.
  • Perform Maintenance Coordinator duties when required.
  • Ability to work any shift, any days, and provide 24/7 on call support.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance related role or service in the armed forces technical training program and OJT/Operations training/experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical theory and principals and their practical application
    Knowledge of high voltage, distribution, and electronics
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, loop sheets, and motor diagrams
    Familiar with PLC’s
  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders to receive and produce schedule information.
  • Must be able to participate fully in all project and departmental meetings and discussions effectively.
  • Must understand how to operate in a Microsoft Office environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to plan and organize the work of others.
  • Ability to delegate and meet deadlines.
  • PMP or PMI certification would be beneficial but is not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in cold to hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises; works inside and/or outside.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to deal with high stress situations
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
