Job Title Vehicle Maintenance Tech III
Position Responsibilities :
- Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles and equipment
- Repair and maintain the fleet of Alyeska Resort vehicles and equipment
- Train and assist other Techs on maintenance and repair projects
- Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner and accurately record all work performed
- Attends weekly staff and safety meetings
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shop area in order to provide a safe work environment
- Will be respectful of all employees and guests of Alyeska Resort.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance policies and procedures are being followed by all employees.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed. Train staff on record keeping of maintenance logs.
- Other duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience
- High school education or equivalent
- Must possess a valid Alaska Driver’s License
- CDL / Medical Examiners Certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Vehicle Maintenance field
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on Pisten Bully Snowcats
- Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulics, hydrostatic drive systems, electrical, electrical over hydraulics, gas & diesel engine systems, computerized engine control systems, drive train, chassis, body repair, welding, fuel systems, and air systems
- Proficiency in use of specialty tools and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues and order parts independently
- Excellent reading comprehension of technical manuals and diagrams.
- Proficiently operate all vehicles in the fleet to evaluate performance of equipment and repairs
- Strong understanding of resort operations for effective organization and prioritization of workflow
- Provide consistent quality work with good documentation
- Ability to run the shop in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
- Communicates effectively in order to train co-workers

The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical terrain in the work environment can be uneven with poor traction; there is ice and snow outside, and wet floors indoors.
