ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ● Setup and operate CNC Major Mill/Bridge Mill ● Organize parts to process ● Clean machined parts - deburring ● Reads/interprets machining drawings, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters for production parts; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) ●Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs ● Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates ● Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced to meet tolerance requirements ● Writing and maintaining inspection and programming logs and manuals ● Ability to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements ● Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling ● Understands and has the ability to perform tool wear offsets ● Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment ● Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department ● Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures ● Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions ● Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Supervisor
SUBORDINATE STAFF: None
KNOWLEDGE: ● Basic knowledge of and operation of a 5 axis CNC machine ● Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (impact wrench, grinding tools, etc.) ● Proficient with metric measuring instruments (calipers, dial indicators, touch probes, etc.) ● Knowledge of machining fabrication processes ● Basic understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GC&T) ● Able to read and comprehend blue prints ● Proving out programs at the machine ensuring the highest quality is maintained at all times
SKILLS: ● Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming. ● Proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems ● Must be organized and able to meet critical deadlines, able to organize time to handle concurrent assignments. ● Must possess excellent communication, problem solving, team interface and interpersonal skills ● Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS ● Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
EXPERIENCE ● 2-5 years related experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and machining experience. ● 2-5 years’ experience and /or training as a CNC Programmer programming with 2D/3D CAM/CAD software in a shop environment for multi-axis machining 2D & 3D projects. ● Experience with SolidWorks software, CAMWorks machining software, or similar software
TRAVEL: Occasional travel required to other Amada facilities in California and Japan for training.
