Job Title: Import Specialist
Department: Purchasing
Reports To: RC Product Content Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Import Specialist is responsible for managing and scheduling the import of goods, will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to international business, as well as coordinate with customs and carriers to ensure efficient transit of goods. The Import Specialist will work closely with the sales and logistics teams to ensure that shipments arrive on time and at the right destination.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor shipments and coordinate with customs, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely arrival of goods.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to international business.
- Monitor and report changes in regulations that may affect shipment of goods.
- Prepare, review, and submit documents related to import and export activities.
- Work with vendors, buyers, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods to appropriate warehouses.
- Get shipping quotes from multiple shippers to ensure best shipping rates.
- Respond to buyer inquiries related to import and export activities.
- List new products on marketplaces. Maintain category linking between our websites and marketplaces.
- Pull new products from local warehouse for the photography department as needed.
- Weigh and measure new products as needed.
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- At least two years of experience in import and export operations
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to international business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software

JOB CONDITIONS:
- Sitting 75%- moderate to heavy office work including the use of computer and telephone.
- Lifting 5% lifting as much as 50lbs occasionally and up to 40lbs regularly
- Climbing 2% Climbing ladders and step stools occasionally while lifting product
- Standing 10%- moderate movement testing product in outside environment.
