This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Community Enrichment Teacher - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who will lead and teach Community Enrichment classes including but not limited to the following areas: sports and fitness, culinary, arts, computer, and martial arts.
This position is filled on an as need basis, contingent upon institutional needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Some College
CERTIFICATION:
Preferred: First Aid and CPR Certification (or obtained within 90 days.)
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Successful Teaching Experience
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans.
- Maintain order and structure during class.
- Actively engage students in applicable subject area each day.
- Establish clear rules and expectations of the program with students.
- Provide flexibility with lesson plans and activity changes for students.
- Ensure space is safe, clean and organized.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Perform other work-related duties as needed.

Salary: Pay grade 8 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Occasional travel between panhandle colleges required.
Work Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment: This job may operate in a classroom, online, or tech supported setting. This role routinely uses standard classroom and office equipment such as microphones, audio/video-recorders, computers, overhead projectors, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
