Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to support our Print on Demand (POD) books business from our POD headquarters in the Charleston office. It is an exciting opportunity to be a strategic finance partner in an innovative and rapidly evolving part of the books business .

We're looking for exceptional people with solid financial knowledge and outstanding analytical skills. You will work cross-functionally and cross-geographies with our business teams acting partly as a controller as well as a strategic partner for a business that focuses on both manufacturing and retail excellence. Your main responsibility will be controllership of manufacturing costs for the WW business in the context of manufacturing margins and the fees we charge for our service. Get ready to challenge assumptions and drive change within this large yet nimble business.

In this role you will:
(1) be the key finance partner to understanding the operational components of the POD business WW. You will work with our local Operations Finance teams (NA, EU, and FE) to establish best in class processes, analytics and controls for receiving and analyzing POD mfg costs WW. You will be the key finance partner supporting related operational levers including how we understand our manufacturing costs vs. fees, inventory levels, outsourcing & prebuilding strategies, the impact of sustainability/procurement initiatives, and capacity expansion/equipment strategies.
This will require you to earn trust and partner with cross-functional teams (eg; engineering, procurement, topology) to influence ways in which data is reported (insisting on highest standards), goal setting, and owning the development of our own internal metrics;
(2) act as a strategic finance partner to our WW enterprise print-on-demand business, helping guide the strategic vision, supporting analyses as needed, and influencing the establishment of metrics that hold the business accountable to its goals.

The role will require someone who is able to deal with ambiguity-finding ways in which to add value without always being given specific direction. You must be motivated to make a big impact and have the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. You will have to make tradeoff decisions as to when direct finance support is needed vs. when to establish self-service frameworks that the business team can use. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives and various stakeholders across Amazon, and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities
* Ownership of Manufacturing costs in the POD P&L - analysis of the financial outputs, connecting them with the underlying input drivers and translating them into insights to inform and execute business decisions.
* Partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts, accounting, inventory and operations teams to provide analytics, strategic guidance and decision support to senior executives on key initiatives
* Tracking business performance against goals and leading goal reviews with senior management; developing and implementing policies and programs to maintain and improve profitability.
* Facilitating financial reviews, performing analysis on weekly, monthly and quarterly results. Finding opportunities to improve and simplify these processes.
* Providing input to planning processes for the business, in line with Amazon planning/reporting cycles.
* Project ownership, working with business partners to deliver projects such as new site launches, equipment innovations, and customer analysis that help us better serve Amazon's customers.
* Partnering with EU/US Finance teams on WW finance-specific deliverables and projects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You would be well suited to this role if you possess: * Fluent English (CEFR B2 or above) - A strong academic background * An MBA may be considered * 5 years finance experience from Retail, FMCG, or Tech companies within an international environment. * Demonstrable experience of driving Financial results. * An eye for detail and a passion for data * Robust analytical & modelling skills. * Advanced Excel skills, with VBA skills a plus* Prior knowledge of SQL/ETL and COGNOS would be beneficial, and a willingness to learn these is essential

- 5 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5 years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3 years of finance experience
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
