Job summary
The Product Safety Team is seeking a Risk Manager to develop robust defect detection and investigation processes. The Risk Manager will solve complex problems for the benefit of our customers.

You will work with Business and Tech teams to design and implement products, which ensure the safety and compliance of Amazon’s food and product selection, to drive a positive customer experience.

You will partner and consult with business, legal, technical teams, customer service, and other internal/external teams to develop strategies, set objectives, define requirements, and implement sustainable and systemic solutions to deliver on long term products. You will work in a team environment, collaborating remotely with team members in other Amazon locations.

Key job responsibilities
  • Define program roadmaps across multiple teams to achieve business goal
  • Work with business stakeholders and tech teams to define needs, build solutions, and measure results
  • Clarify and drive short-term and long-term project priorities and commitments, as well as establish and maintain clear chains of project management and accountability
  • Plan and conduct periodic product/business reviews with leadership team
  • Develop key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall program performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement

A day in the life
  • Visualize and drive end-to-end process requirements, program implementation, and continuous improvement, working through obstacles along the way
  • Communicate risks and opportunities to business leaders at all levels of the organization

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, engineering, operations, logistics, supply chain, regulatory, risk management or related field
  • MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Retail, Manufacturing or Equivalent).
  • 4 years’ experience delivering successful consumer facing products, or developing businesses, preferably in a technical field
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive; demonstrated ability to have fun and inspire team members to enjoy work, be action-oriented and stretch their imagination.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, plan, deliver and measure programs with a growing scope or complexity
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Technical fluency: comfortable with understanding and discussing technology concepts and how they impact stakeholder needs
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to balance multiple types of data with solid intuition
  • Experience working with, engaging, and influencing multiple cross-functional teams and leaders
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to explain assumptions, recommendations, and impact
  • Possess solid problem-solving fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of end-to-end ownership, and superb verbal/written communication skills
  • Eye for detail and quality, works well with ambiguity, has strong curiosity and desire to learn, and is a determined self-starter who excels with decision making and follow through
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver both strategic and tactical results across various marketplaces from inception to completion
  • Experience using verbal and written communication skills, presenting to executives
