Job summary
The Product Safety Team is seeking a Risk Manager to develop robust defect detection and investigation processes. The Risk Manager will solve complex problems for the benefit of our customers.
You will work with Business and Tech teams to design and implement products, which ensure the safety and compliance of Amazon’s food and product selection, to drive a positive customer experience.
You will partner and consult with business, legal, technical teams, customer service, and other internal/external teams to develop strategies, set objectives, define requirements, and implement sustainable and systemic solutions to deliver on long term products. You will work in a team environment, collaborating remotely with team members in other Amazon locations.
Key job responsibilities

Define program roadmaps across multiple teams to achieve business goal

Work with business stakeholders and tech teams to define needs, build solutions, and measure results

Clarify and drive short-term and long-term project priorities and commitments, as well as establish and maintain clear chains of project management and accountability

Plan and conduct periodic product/business reviews with leadership team

Develop key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall program performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement

- Communicate risks and opportunities to business leaders at all levels of the organization

- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, engineering, operations, logistics, supply chain, regulatory, risk management or related field

MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Retail, Manufacturing or Equivalent).

4 years’ experience delivering successful consumer facing products, or developing businesses, preferably in a technical field

Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive; demonstrated ability to have fun and inspire team members to enjoy work, be action-oriented and stretch their imagination.

Demonstrated ability to define, plan, deliver and measure programs with a growing scope or complexity

Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

Technical fluency: comfortable with understanding and discussing technology concepts and how they impact stakeholder needs

Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple priorities

Ability to balance multiple types of data with solid intuition

Experience working with, engaging, and influencing multiple cross-functional teams and leaders

Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to explain assumptions, recommendations, and impact
