About the job**
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for handling vendor orders and interactions, implementing safety regulations, checking all packages for quality assurance, efficiently moving raw and finished product within & outside the warehouse environment. As well as ensuring accurate documentation, labelling, palletization and presentation of product is adhered to.
This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Be responsible for the safe storage and movement of product within company guidelines.
- Accurate forklift driving to ensure minimal product damage.
- Assist with the provision of on-the-job training
- Report and clean up any damages within the warehouse.
- Perform daily checks on operating equipment.
- Maintain performance monitoring charts for different aspects of the warehouse process as required
- Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating Procedures and processes.
- Be responsible for the unloading and loading of trucks.
- Be responsible for the unloading and loading of shipping containers.
- Ensure DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time) is the key focus to all activities undertaken.
- Unload and load trucks whilst monitor key performance indicators such as movements, damage and DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time), and ensure the warehouse & equipment is cleaned to standard on a daily basis.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager to plan daily warehouse functions
- Liaise with other warehouse team members, production staff, maintenance staff, wider supply chain team and external logistics/transport teams to ensure an effective and efficient daily operation.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Team Lead – Inventory with problem solving and maintenance fault solutions within the warehouse as required.
- Update all Risk Management Plans, Quality Plans and Environmental Plans, ISO and Health & Safety standards and procedures
- Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health & safety, wellbeing and the environment whilst complying with all laws and company policies
- Communicate effectively with Warehouse Manager, Team Lead - Inventory, warehouse team and production management to ensure the long term goals and targets are met.
- Support companywide initiatives to improve service levels to our customers
- Be an active functional member of the warehouse/production team. Co-operation and input will be required in relation to team performance, site growth and planning meetings
- Undertake identified personal training / development approved by the Warehouse Manager

Qualifications and Competencies
- Forklift license including high reach and order pickers
- Previous experience in automotive and or defense sectors is highly desired
- Understanding and experience with standard warehousing practices
- Computer/Scanner aptitude
- Proficient with ERP systems
- Advanced problem solving and fault-finding abilities
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to manage all aspects of the role at times in a pressurized environment
- Knowledge and application of industrial and personal safety behaviors
