Amazon is looking for a customer obsessed, analytical and innovative individual to join Amazon Fresh Grocery as a Senior Vendor Manager. This role will own the P&L for some of the largest categories and vendors in Frozen. You will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as inventory management, marketing, merchandising, pricing, operations, and finance to drive the performance of strategic categories and vendor partners.
The ideal candidate should have extensive buying experience as well as demonstrated ability to operate independently, think strategically, analyze data, conduct business reviews, lead winning negotiations and provide strong customer service support. A detail-oriented and analytical mindset is a must along with a strong proficiency in Excel and a natural curiosity to solve complex problems. This role requires you to be external facing, representing Amazon to vendors as you optimize category growth and drive negotiations.
You will be expected to thrive in ambiguous situations, take ownership of goals and work in a fast-paced environment to deliver results. Much of this work will be cross-functional, working with internal and external stakeholders. As a result, a collaborative attitude, great communication skills and a keen sense of initiative are critical to success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to drive successful results.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the P&L for multiple large categories and vendors, hitting top and bottom line targets
• Develop strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure early insight into new trends and products; early and exclusive access to new items; merchandising and promotions and competitive costs.
• Drive winning negotiations and represent Amazon when meeting with vendor senior leadership
• Lead a cross-functional team, including Marketing, In-Stock, and Amazon Advertising, to drive superior category & vendor results
• Continuously audit to improve the customer experience and business performance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 5 years of professional or military experience
- 5 years buying experience
- Proven ability to handle complex negotiations and drive winning results
- Strong business judgement and a track record of managing successful vendor relationships
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey business insights to senior leaders
- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Grocery buying experience
- SQL proficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills to form solid working relationships with vendors and cross-functional partners
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, with attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
