Amazon Studios Technology Product Strategy team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to implement long-term strategies for Amazon Studios Technology. A Technical Program Manager will plan, own, and facilitate status reporting, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder management, technical trade-off discussions, and process definition across the various technology teams including software engineering, product development and technology services.
You will advance the implementation of the Studios Technology strategy as well as support the incubation of global initiatives and programs.
Key job responsibilities
• Challenge the status quo, asks appropriate questions to determine root cause of issues, and negotiate solutions, timelines, and mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholder teams to define deliverables, roadmaps, and accompanying documentation for projects and initiatives.
• Develop and reports on projects, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk, issues and escalations; create mitigation plans; and balance business needs with technical constraints.
• Scope and manage the delivery of projects end-to-end.
• Coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and partners to develop optimal solutions.
• Make the appropriate trade-offs to optimize release schedules, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional, local, and remote project teams.
• Facilitate technical discussions between SDEs and Product Managers.
• Dive deep to understand business needs of stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance or resolve them through feedback loop with the customer and the Studio Technology team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and customers and draft cross-functional communications.
• Report status and program information out to senior leadership via verbal and written communication.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 8 years of experience with managing strategic projects with both domestic and international teams.
• 8 years of experience in media & entertainment, technology, or M&A
• Proven experience in handling a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Prior experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate and influence with both business and technical stakeholders, including senior level leadership.
