About Amazon.com
Amazon.com – a place where builders can build. We hire the world's brightest minds and offer them an environment in which they can invent and innovate to improve the experience for our customers. We want you to help share and shape our mission to be Earth's most customer-centric company. We are making history and the good news is that we've only just begun.
The Team:
Who we are: The Safety Sentiment Team (SST) contributes to making sure all associates feel that they work at the world’s safest workplace. Our team focuses on human behaviors to improve our leader’s capability to lead safety and to foster the engagement and participation of associates in safety outcomes. We deep dive safety sentiment data at all levels across all business units and geographies to understand where our safety super powers are and our growth opportunities. Using human centered design principles, we create and simplify mechanisms and tools to help our leader’s lead safety and for our associates to engage and participate in, and have influence over safety at their workplace.
The Role: SST is seeking an experienced Think Big Leader to serve as a WW WHS Program Manager who will support and derive insights from sentiment data (in partnership with the BI team and HR partners), provide safety SME input into the development of an artificial intelligence chatbot, and investigate the connection between over 30 safety dimensions to propose contemporary leading indicators . WHS is developing a GenAI chatbot that is able to derive insights and patterns from DragonFly our existing safety observation tool. In this role you will support the holistic assessment of our safety observation program by analyzing data, identify trends, and proving subject matter expertise to BI and data scientists to curate and design innovative AI driven solutions. This role will challenge you to deep dive observations, safety sentiment data, incidents, HR data, and other ergonomics/safety experience developed programs in order to showcase their overlap and interconnection within the SST and the broader WHS organization. Starting with integrating AI into observations, the Safety Sentiment Teams’ goal is to utilize the flywheel philosophy to seamlessly integrate all safety programs, send signals and insights, and drive behaviors autonomously, while reducing operational workload.
What do we expect you to do: We expect this leader to execute tactical initiatives that support the overall design and development of AI into the observation tool, through participatory designs, pilots, and then scaling across other safety programs. Being successful in achieving this you will be providing safety professionals and operations leaders with always-on, on-demand access to high-quality insights and information, specific to their particular need/role. In other words, providing users with the right information, at the right time, to take the right action (or to make the right decision). Upon success, we expect to iterate and scale, replicating the process and linking together other programs such as for example, safety climate network, leader safety score, conditioning programs, and training. In this role, you will work with cross-functional members from various teams including: WHS Field leaders, Operations, WHS PMO, and other Centralized Programs teams (safety management system, Internal Audits, compliance assurance etc.). This role calls for an individual who is skilled at deep dive, learn and be curious and invent and simplify. Tactical work includes drafting project plans, establishing and evaluating pilots, scaling successful pilots and iterating on existing tools and standard work.
Ideal candidate is expected to:
- Work with internal teams within Workplace Ergonomics & Safety Experience (WESE) along with other WHS Tech Team and PxT Central Science Team to identify opportunities and improve existing programs and processes
- Perform data analysis and risk trending by leveraging WHS programs outputs
- Work with field teams to understand churn and inefficiencies between safety sentiment programs
- Analyze, standardize, and iterate site safety standard work process with our internal programs
- Exhibit analytical capabilities (including ability to deep dive, root cause, and permanently eliminate hazards and risks)
