What are the responsibilities and job description for the PA Lab Technician position at AMBE Engineering?
Support Fastener Inspection and Testing:
Dimensional, Metallurgical, and Performance related testing.
Maintain records in accordance to applicable customer specific requirements, consensus standards and ISO 17015 / A2LA accrediting bodies.
Support management of gauge system and Lab accreditation system, including round robin lab qualification via CTS.
Support proficiency training and testing for various metallurgical and fastener performance test methods (Hardness, Chemistry (Spectrometer), Tensile, Micro-structure, Torque to Gage, Cleanliness, etc.

Requirements*
College Degree and/or related experience in Fastener manufacturing and testing.

Communication: * Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly and effectively present information to employees, management, and customers.

Mathematical: * Basic mathematical and statistical capability (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Ability to work with fractions/percentages and different units of measurement (inches, millimeters, etc)

Blueprint / GD&T: * Ability to review and understand basic blueprints including common GD&T terminology / symbology and related standards. Experience with common measurement gages (calipers, micrometers, digital/dial indicators, optical comparators, and other gages commonly used in the fastener manufacturing process.

Computer: * Ability to efficiently work with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,). Excel is the predominate program used.

LAB / Metallurgical*: Understanding of carbon-based metals and those used for fastener manufacturing. Steel Treating fundamentals regarding heat treatment - annealing, austenitizing, quench, & temper, etc. Related testing and inspection methods: Tensile, Hardness, Microstructure (Austenite, Martensite, etc)
