This position will work on the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team and report directly to the Senior Manager, while working alongside leading battery scientists and engineers.
Position Overview
To support commercial and R&D cell production through working with chemical products used inside of the battery. The position will involve working in a glove box to manufacture substances used for liquid metal batteries. The operator will work independently. Safety and attention to detail are important as some of the work deals with high temperature materials. The job is physical in nature and does require ability to lift.
Responsibilities:
- Job is hands on and does demand physical activity.
- Working inside of a glove box.
- Working with raw materials from inventory to final delivery to the battery.
- Weighing and recording values following established procedures.
- Loading and unloading materials from furnaces.
- Working with high temperature materials.
- Working closely with Engineers to execute on experimental plans.
- Following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Logging all essential information from daily tasks into appropriate databases.
Requirements:
- Hands on job requiring dexterity and ability to manipulate and maneuver parts of various sizes and weights.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with glove box work is preferred.
- Experience working with high temperature materials is preferred.
- Familiarity with performing laboratory experiments. General comfort working in a laboratory or industrial work environment.
- Skilled with hands and familiarity with tools.
- Computer experience for basic data entry.
