This is a Full Time- Ongoing opportunity for a Ambulance Attendant operating from Wendouree BranchAbout the roleAmbulance Attendants provide care and transport to Non-Emergency patients.

The primary objective of this role is to provide an effective and efficient service in the transport of Non-Emergency pre and post hospital patients between home and medical facilities, to assist in achieving service goals and targets relating to Non-Emergency transport.

Depending upon location, the rosters fall between the hours of 0800-2000, Monday to Friday and are eight to ten hours in duration.

The successful applicants will be required to drive and operate all current AV operational vehicle types.About youTo apply for the positions, applicants must hold a Diploma of Emergency Health Care or equivalent and a minimum of 400 hours of supervised clinical practice completed within a two-year period.

A current Victorian driver licence is also essential along with mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations.Due to fatigue management, applicants are required to live within 45 60 minutes' drive from the work location.

All successful applicants must be available to attend a four -week induction program in Metropolitan Melbourne. The induction will be based around office hours, Monday to Friday for the duration of the program.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

  • Provide appropriate patient assessment, care and transport, in accordance with NEPT Regulations and AV requirements, to ensure patient safety, comfort and psychological wellbeing is maintained.
  • Respond to all cases in a timely manner to ensure patients are transported in a timely manner and to maximise availability of vehicle to respond to cases
  • Complete Patient Care Records and other relevant documentation in an accurate and legible manner to ensure correct information is effectively communicated through appropriate channels.
  • Provide effective patient handover to hospital staff / patient relatives to ensure patient is delivered safely and all relevant information communicated.
