About the role
Join Amcor’s Corporate Communications team as the Director of Engagement Communications. In this pivotal role, you'll drive and direct our global communications on company priorities, employee experience and engagement agenda, contributing to Amcor’s global internal communications strategy.
This leadership position entails strong cross-functional collaboration with Executive Management and leadership teams across the organization. Your focus will be on proactively developing, executing, and measuring high-impact communication initiatives to engage our diverse global audience and bolster confidence in Amcor’s leadership.
Partnering with senior executives, HR, and other departments, you'll provide strategic counsel on employee communications, change, recognition, engagement, and experience initiatives company-wide. Guiding attention and focus on communication aligned with Amcor's strategy, priorities, and key initiatives, you'll ensure direct information flow to key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will develop and execute global communications plans, with a strong emphasis on engagement, to support all Amcor businesses and increase internal engagement company-wide.
Key Job Accountabilities
We are looking for an energetic communications leader with extensive experience in employee and change communications and a proven track record of effective delivery of integrated, multi-channel internal communications programs and campaigns.
An internal communications expert, who is a real team player and who can prioritize, plan and co-ordinate multiple business demands in line with the overall company strategy. A hands-on and digital savvy contributor who has an excellent knowledge of modern technological communications tools and who will focus on execution to drive a core set of deliverables and metrics and who feels comfortable creating and activating out-of-the box ideas to increase engagement.
Develop and implement an employee communications framework to enhance information flow within the organization.
Offer expert communication counsel to key stakeholders and senior executives.
Develop communication materials and events to support leaders in articulating the company priorities. This includes developing and executing the annual leadership conference.
Execute an employee engagement strategy, utilizing data from surveys and focus groups to provide insights to leadership.
Deliver internal messages aligned with company strategy in a creative and engaging manner.
Manage internal communications related to HR and business change programs, ensuring local impact.
Amplify employee engagement activities across various communication channels.
Cultivate relationships with executive leadership as a communication expert.
Act as an ambassador for Amcor internally and externally.
Provide communication expertise for major change initiatives and transactions.
Collaborate with the global communications team to develop integrated content strategies.
Establish communication metrics to measure strategy execution success.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field; MBA or relevant Master's degree a plus
10-12 years of successful communications experience with direct interaction with executives
Proven track record in developing and executing communication campaigns
Experience in FMCG, Packaging, or international settings preferred
Budget management experience including managing agencies and vendors
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and forward-thinking
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficient in communication tools for business objectives and strong project management abilities
Fluent in English; additional languages advantageous
Strong copywriting skills across various formats
Solid business acumen; capable of aligning communication with business goals
Resilient and results-driven with effective leadership in a matrix organization
Tech-savvy with expertise in communication tools and internal social media
Ability to build relationships across cultures and functions, and develop colleagues
Demonstrates maturity, self-awareness, and effective indirect leadership, thriving in challenging situations and navigating ambiguity.
