What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer 6 position at Amentum?
Perform engineering assignments for civil project development, design, construction implementation of federal government projects. The position requires a person who has strong engineering production skills, analytical, critical thinking skills, and computational abilities as related to developing engineering work products to support these projects. The selected person will be able to independently perform engineering tasks with minimal direction and expected to lead multi-discipline teams to complete projects within schedule and budget.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop design inputs and generate design calculations, specifications, and drawings as related to all aspects of industrial landfills, soil remediation, and waste management.
Use or manage designers in the use of CAD 3-D software to develop designs for large-scale projects.
May be responsible for designs, analyses, or design reviews.
Proficient in one of the following civil engineering disciplines.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering disciplines to develop drawings, specifications and other requirements both as co-located or remote working.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation including design requirements and design reports.
Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers.
Conduct site visits and evaluate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and procedures.
Develop cost estimates, schedules, and budgets for design proposals for new work
Develop construction cost estimates, schedules, and budgets for the project planning phase, the design phase and the construction phase of projects.
Support development of proposals, including scope definition, staff resourcing, scheduling, and costing.
BS in Civil Engineering
PE preferred.
At least 20 years of job-related experience.
Experienced in civil projects at a federal government facility.
Capable of navigating regulatory compliance issues.
Excellent communications and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a US Citizen.
Capable of obtaining a security clearance.
