What are the responsibilities and job description for the Space Planner position at Amentum?
Amentum is seeking a Space Planner to join our Operations and Maintenance team.
Scheduled workdays and hours may vary based on business demand. This position is responsible for administering the “Moves, Adds, and Changes” program for large (i.e., several hundred thousand square feet)manufacturing facilities housing hundreds of employees and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD to maintain and update building layouts.
- Conduct regular building audits for accuracy of furniture and people locations.
- Meet with managers, employees, and groups to gather requirements for projects and lead execution.
- Coordinate stacking plans and moves as related to projects and department requests
- Support Architects and contractors with measurements and design.
- Maintain drawings of furniture, electrical, data, paint, carpet, etc.
- Collaborate with Client to provide event drawings.
- Maintain facilities documentation.
- Long-term building replacement planning under existing and new purchase contracts
- Support warehouse inventory planning.
- Gather and process information on expense, capital, and disposal requests for Facility Managers.
- Support maintenance and team activities and needed.
- Local travel between buildings as necessary. Reliable transportation required.
- Occasional out of town travel as needed (less than 10%).
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Additional Information:
- This position may require a valid state driver’s license.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- May be required to work holidays and weekends.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Five years of experience in facilities' space planning projects.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment background check and substance abuse test.
- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
- Competency in AutoCAD 2017 or newer.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Physical Requirements:
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
- Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
- Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
