We are currently seeking a SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Analyst to support our Corporate Finance team. This position will be based out of our Framingham, MA headquarters office with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Play key role in the SEC reporting process, including preparing all aspects of the 10-Qs, 10-K's and 8-K's, effectively utilizing Wdesk software;
Prepare various quarter-end reports for external reporting, including the earnings per share calculation, and preparation of the consolidated cash flow statement and statement of stockholders' equity;
Prepare and/or review schedules for earnings releases, ensuring consistency with 10-Q's and 10-K's;
Participate in technical accounting research regarding new pronouncements and accounting issues that impact the business, prepare technical accounting memos regarding appropriate accounting treatment and implement new accounting standards;
Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are met for relevant areas (e.g., disclosure, lease accounting, stock compensation, equity accounting and external financial and ESG reporting controls) and provide supporting documentation to internal audit regarding completion of control procedures;
In collaboration with the Director of ESG, Reporting & Controls, continue to improve processes and procedures to streamline the financial and ESG reporting process and improve information quality;
Communicate effectively with different teams across the organization to obtain support documents and schedules for financial reports; ensure completion of supporting documentation for footnote disclosures, periodic disclosures and audit support;
Prepare schedules and journal entries for stock-based compensation to ensure compliance with ASC 718 and manage financial reporting for the awards using Morgan Stanley's Equity Edge Online reporting tool (formerly e*trade's);
Assist with the preparation of approximately 15 stand-alone entity annual financial statements utilizing Wdesk;
Coordinate with external auditors and service providers to provide requested documentation regarding financial documents and accounting treatment for specific transactions;
Perform various special projects as needed, including maintaining/creating financial reports in D365;and,
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) of those years working in a Big 4 and/or mid-tier public accounting firm. Experience working in a related industry is preferred.
CPA license at time of hire is preferred; or in process of licensing is required.
Detailed understanding of U.S. GAAP (including ASC 842, ASC 606, ASC 718 and others) and SEC reporting regulations.
Experience with multiple operating companies and consolidations.
Strong technical reporting experience including experience writing technical accounting memos.
Fully proficient with the Microsoft Office suite is required; experience with Wdesk and D365 software is desirable.
