What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at American Behavioral Health Systems?
ABHS is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable HR Manager with the ability to ability to interact and form relationship with employees and staff at all levels. The HR Manager position is in our Spokane Valley corporate location and reports to the HR Director.
The role primarily involves oversight of our corporate training program and 4 trainers as well assisting with recruiting including job postings and talent sourcing. This position also may occasionally interact with local communities in order to source community interaction in order to promote ABHS' service as well as attend job related educational trainings and recruit staff.
This position also participates and collaboratively assists with internal and external projects and events across the full array of corporate Human Resources areas for our multiple locations in the state of Washington. The HR Manager role requires diplomacy, tact, and professionalism in order to be successful in carrying out job duties.

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of 24/7 healthcare staff.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Training
- Consults with ABHS managers and supervisors to assess training needs.
- Develops and maintains continual education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed.
- Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
- Continuously monitors and trains designated trainers at each program to ensure consistent company‐wide onboarding and accurate delivery of training content.
- Closely monitors HR Trainer direct reports and continuously evaluates program delivery and HR Trainer performance to provide positive feedback and address issues
- Ensures on time delivery and tracking of required healthcare employee trainings.
- Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
- Ensures training completions are documented in training tracker and contacts appropriate staff to ensure follow-up on incomplete trainings.
General HR
- Assists the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for employees.
- Processes job requisitions.
- Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).
- Maintains human resource files and compiles reports from the database as needed.
- Acts as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies.
- Conducts employment verifications.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge in the areas of employee training programs, recruiting and employee relations
- PC literate specifically in MS Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret forms and documents
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work alone or as a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of general business and employment practices
- Able to travel in-state on occasion
