This destination will include over 450 retail, food and specialty shops, complemented by over 15 entertainment offerings. Attractions open now include the fully-enclosed Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, Big SNOW American Dream – North America’s only indoor snow park, and The Rink – an NHL-regulation sized ice rink. Future entertainment will include DreamWorks Water Park; Merlin Entertainments’ Sea Life New Jersey and Legoland Discovery Center; live Performing Arts Theater; 300-foot tall Observation Wheel; The Dining Terrace with over 15 full-service restaurants and the world’s first and only Munchie’s Food Hall.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The main purpose of the Water Park Manager is:
- Responsible for leading all aspects of the aquatics program to include the operation of 20 attractions and 250 aquatics team members. Ensure the highest level of safety and guest enjoyment and encouraging a positive work environment.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Maintain a safe work environment for both team members and guests through effective training, policies and procedures and analysis of incident reports
- Maintain a park presence through frequent contact with team members and guests while assessing needs in each location to include: staffing, maintenance, line speed, cleanliness, signage, ADA and safety
- Conduct effective and regular conversations with the rides leadership staff to ensure individual development and goals are being met through company performance management tools
- Responding to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly, effective, efficient manner and acting as the point of contact for any major events or activities
- Maintain training and aquatic certification records for accuracy and completeness
- Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation and complete requirements of MOD program
- Monitoring daily Waterpark cleanliness and request cleaning/maintenance support as required to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
- Collaborate with: maintenance, housekeeping, IT, marketing, group sales and other departments for facility related events
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Implement expense and labor budgets for the rides/attractions areas.
- Working with the Water Park Aquatics Manager on secondary tasks
- Lead the instruction of Ellis & Associates (E&A) aquatic courses and in-service training programs
- Execute all waterpark training programs to ensure a well trained, motivated staff
- Communicate with Human Resources on the interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management of the aquatics staff
- Oversee payroll functions for team members ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure safety audits are being conducted regularly and records of all audits (internal and external) are organized and easily accessible
- Continuously evaluate rides for efficiencies and adjust operations when necessary
WHO YOU ARE
- Must posses, or be able to complete, Ellis & Associates Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certifications
- Must possess, or be able to complete, First Aid, CPR/PR, and AED certifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a waterpark environment
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience
- Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to multi task, remain extremely organized and be able to prioritize
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
