The primary purpose of this job is to be responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies in a fast-paced machine shop.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC Machines to product metallic components that range in size from 2 inches in diameter/short length to 20-inch diameter/long length. As a Machinist II you are also responsible for ensuring all quality and safety standards; and maintaining equipment and supplies in this fast-paced machine shop. This is a day shift position from 7:00am -- 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
A successful Machinist II uses their interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, understands machining principles, and is able to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long-term solutions.

Additional Responsibilities
- Operates CNC lathes to produce metallic components: sizes range from 2-inch diameter/short length to 20-inch diameter/long length
- Use instruments and gauges, along with shop tools to verity operational drawing requirements and part conformance
- Read and understand basic technical drawings to produce parts that meet specifications
- Adjust machine offsets to ensure part conformance
- Use indexable cutting tools to ensure proper edge
- Perform minor setups with some supervision
- Responsible for maintaining lot traceability and accountability
- Measure and document dimensions during operations and maintain appropriate machining and operations records
- Train and assist level I Machinists
- Willingness and commitment to teach and to help improve skill sets in others
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Work independently with/without minimal direction of senior personnel in functional area
- Follow company process and procedures to comply with ISO and AS9100 standards
- Follow company established safety standards

- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 – 5 years of general CNC work experience
Skilled in:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of basic machining principles and GD&T
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and gauges to ensure proper setups and machining operations
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

- Vibration, or works near moving mechanical parts and high, precarious and congested places
- Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock
- Work on or near moving mechanical parts
- Exposed to prolonged risk of loud to moderate noise throughout the day. Hearing protection is recommended in all areas of the shop and is provided by the Company
