Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Pro Shop Manager is responsible for managing all golf shop activities, including sales and guest service. Duties include supervision of personnel assigned to work in the pro shop, on the driving range and in golf cart maintenance, and the administration of facility rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage golf shop activities including checking in members and guests, selling merchandise, processing cash and credit card transactions, and managing reservations
- Serve customers in the pro shop and supervise inventory control
- Hire and manage golf shop staff by conducting training, supervising and evaluating performance, and scheduling to match demand patterns
- Maintain the pro shop environment by keeping the shop neat and orderly, straightening and stocking merchandise
- Follow corporate guidelines for opening and closing duties, cash handling, and transaction recording
- Respond to member and guest service issues
- Perform management functions in absence of General Manager
- Assist the General Manager in the facilitation of staff meetings
- Other duties may be assigned by management as necessary
Qualifications
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience prior experience in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably in the golf/hospitality/service/leisure entertainment industry
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and credit card transactions
- Experience handling customer service issues with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work with little or no direct supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of recreational operations and golf course maintenance preferred

Working Conditions
- Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
