American Kidney Center of Madison (AKC) is looking for energetic, patient and team focused Patient Care Technicians to join our unit!
Assumes responsibility and utilizes opportunities for personal and professional growth
Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable dialysis treatments
Our PCTs care for multiple patients
Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
Building long-term relationships with your patients in end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
Certification required 18 months from hire date
Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need
Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
Successful completion of on-site 12 week training in theory and practice of hemodialysis
Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 10 hours)
Valid driver’s license and insurance
Computer knowledge desirable
CPR Certified - may complete during training
Drug screen and background check required for employment

Dialysis: 1 year (Preferred not required)
License/Certification:
CCHT (preferred/not required)
CPR Certification (Preferred/complete during training)
