PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Asset management is the process of maximizing IT asset utilization to ensure compliance with licensing contracts and agreements. This position is the first level of the IT asset management job family, performing the basic functions for managing the lifecycle of hardware and software assets.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs data entry of hardware, software, licenses, purchases and warranty/maintenance information.
  • Analyzes assets, end user license agreements (EULAs), and contracts to determine the proper classification and assignment of assets.
  • Creates asset reports using asset management software tools.
  • Recommends enhancements to asset management policies and procedures.
  • Conducts software and license harvesting processes and periodic physical inventory.
  • Facilitates the process of asset disposals, including all documentation.
  • Files documentation related to the purchase records and other information, including contracts, quotes, invoices, enterprise agreements and EULAs.
  • Administers license information and assignments in vendor portals.
  • Educates the support teams and customers on the asset management policies, procedures, guidelines, system use, and licensing methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate degree in an IT or finance-related field or equivalent job experience
    • Zero to two years or experience (internships included)
