Training Specialist

As a Training Specialist within Life and Annuity Distribution at American National, you will be responsible for training and educating our field force and home office staff via virtual and in-person meetings. You will use your communication skills and insurance experience to facilitate training sessions and develop training and educational content. Your primary responsibilities will be to develop, monitor, evaluate, and record training activities and program effectiveness; develop and evaluate training and reference material; evaluate employee development in correlation with the training program/process; and provide recommendations for improvement. In this role, you will enjoy a supportive team and an in-office environment out of Springfield, MO, or League City, TX.

What Will You Do?

• Develops and maintains training resources and materials, including organizing reference material, multimedia visual aids, e-learning, and other resources.
• Develops, directs, and instructs life and annuity training programs to ensure team employees and our agency field force have the tools and knowledge to effectively handle their areas of work.
• Analyzes information gained during training (such as assessments, routine feedback, surveys, performance, etc.) to detect potential program revisions, improvements, and individual training needs.
• Recommends improvements to processes, resources, or training and provides input as needed.
• Designs, develops, and maintains certain systems, such as SharePoint sites and LMS platforms that facilitate information for proper procedures and practices, quality guidelines, tracking of continuing education, and licensing, and providing useful links to work-related data.
• Designs, develops, recommends, and implements training based on needs identified and communicated by management.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• One to three years of insurance experience
• Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of training and development experience
• Experience with content creation and design tools a plus (Camtasia, Articulate)
• Experience with adult learning concepts and techniques
